Dunas Douradas and the surrounding area offer a variety of restaurants, many within walking distance from our villas. Here you can find fresh seafood, as well as sunset cocktail events and live-music.
The nearby Quinta do Lago and Vale de Lobo praca have a host of upmarket boutiques, restaurants and bars. Within a 10 minutes drive you will find over 40 restaurants catering to every taste and budget.
There are various Michelin star restaurants within The Golden Triangle and frequent live music events and children’s entertainment on the plazas in the summer months.

Access to the communal pool next to Xenia’s restaurant is included in the rental of one of our Dunas villas and you will receive a magnetic key fob. Other facilities are pay-as-you-go.

Both our Dunas villas feature a pool with a special kids section, offering hours of entertainment while you can relax on the loungers in the south-facing large patios. The proximity of both villas to the beach means you can cut out the hassle finding parking by the beach and backseat tantrums by simply walking over from the villa.
The Vale de Lobo Kids Club is accessible for our guests in Dunas as well (fees apply) and is a first class facility that allows mom & dad to have a relaxed meal in a nearby restaurant, a massage on the beach or simply a few hours of reading time. You can decide on group activities or even individual babysitting if your kids are very young.

Beaches
Dunas Douradas beach offers a full range of facilities, such as showers and bathrooms. During the summer season there are lifeguards on safety patrol from early in the morning until sunset. The beach concession generally offers all the water sports facilities you would want including banana boats, canoes, pedalo’s, surf boards, kayaks, parasailing, water skiing, jet skis and doughnut water rides.
You can also rent sunbeds and shades.
When it’s time to eat or have a refreshing drink there are plenty of restaurants to pick from. Julia’s dishes with their famous African rice and Izzy’s sunset sessions are long-standing favorites and for fresh grilled fish head to Antonio’s.
The Ria Formosa Nature Reserve
The nearby Ria Formosa Nature Reserve is a unique and protected coastal wetland system which is constantly changing due to the continuous movement of winds, currents and tides. It is one of the most amazing places in the Algarve, not only for its variety of landscapes but also because of its unique location.
Classified as a Natural Park in 1987 and one of the 7 natural wonders of Portugal, the Ria Formosa encompasses an area of about 18 000 hectares, and is sheltered from the ocean by several barrier-islands and peninsulas.
There is much more to discover in this protected area. Come along on a bike ride, guided walk, a boat trip or a kayak and get acquainted with this true paradise of the Algarve. From our villas you can access walking paths in the Ria Formosa within a few minutes driving by car.
